Is Sharp Striker Viktor Gyokeres Joining Ruben Amorim at Manchester United?

Exciting news is swirling in the world of football, with Ruben Amorim officially joining Manchester United- and word has it that sharp striker Viktor Gyokeres may soon be joining him at Old Trafford. Viktor Gyokeres is a Swedish 26-year-old striker who has impressed quite highly since his summer of 2023 signing with Sporting Lisbon. Immediately upon his arrival, Gyokeres never wasted a single moment getting into his rhythm. He led his team to secure the title of Liga Portugal and emerged as the top scorer of the league in his very first season with a total of 29 goals. Such a great feat in his maiden season with that team sure is not a small thing, as it has offered him a glimpse into the kind of potential and skill he can bring into the pitch.

No different has this season been, and Gyokeres shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. Thus far, he has scored 12 goals in nine appearances and restored his leading role for Sporting. And with such consistent performance, little question is there as to why other clubs have started to take notice.

In fact, during the latest summer transfer window in 2024, Arsenal were keen on signing him, but it is believed he preferred to stay a bit longer in Portugal since his current contract with Sporting Lisbon runs until the summer of 2028.

The Manchester United attacking line is in a bad rhythm for the last two seasons. New signing Rasmus Hojlund has had a few setbacks with injuries, and fellow forward Joshua Zirkzee is still settling into his surrounding environment. So far, given those challenges, the addition of a proven goal scorer like Gyokeres would greatly improve United's offense. But to secure the service of this young talent, Manchester United must be prepared to mount an onslaught of spending. It is projected that the club would have to spend at least 70 million Euros or, equivalently, around 1.1 trillion IDR, just to bring this gifted striker into their fold. The acquisition of these two players would be an exciting new chapter for Manchester United. With Ruben Amorim set to lead MU into a new era, every step regarding Viktor Gyokeres' possible transfer will be in the most prayers of anxious fans.
