Indonesia’s Squad for Matches Against Japan and Saudi Arabia says - " No Asnawi This Time "

Jakarta – The roster for the Indonesian National Team’s upcoming clashes against Japan and Saudi Arabia has been announced, and fans may be in for a surprise: Asnawi Mangkualam and Ernando Ari are not on the list. The two key players will miss these pivotal World Cup 2024 Qualifiers due to injury.

Indonesia’s Garuda squad will host Japan on November 15 and Saudi Arabia on November 19, with both matches taking place at the iconic Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta. The coach, Shin Tae-yong, has put together a squad of 27 players to face these challenging opponents, but Asnawi and Ernando’s absence will require some lineup adjustments.

To fill the void left by Ernando, Muhammad Riyandi has been called up as a goalkeeper. Meanwhile, the Sayuri brothers, Yakob and Yance, will step in to cover for Asnawi’s position, adding a fresh dynamic to the team.

Familiar faces dominate the lineup, as Coach Shin has retained the core players who regularly feature for Indonesia. Some of the team’s trusted stars will make their return after missing previous matches due to injuries. Jordi Amat, for instance, is back after recovering from a recent injury that kept him out of the game against China. Justin Hubner also rejoins the squad, ready for action after missing the Bahrain and China games.

On the other hand, Kevin Diks has not made it onto the roster this time around. The FC Copenhagen defender’s naturalization process is still underway and won’t be completed until March 25, 2025, so fans will have to wait a bit longer to see him don the Indonesian jersey.

Here’s the full squad that will represent Indonesia against Japan and Saudi Arabia:

- Nadeo Argawinata (Borneo FC)

With this lineup, Shin Tae-yong is set to field a balanced mix of experienced players and promising young talent. The Indonesian squad is up against formidable opponents in Japan and Saudi Arabia, so each player’s contribution will be critical as they strive to secure valuable points on their home turf.

Fans are buzzing with anticipation, especially since these matches provide a perfect opportunity for the Garuda squad to prove their growth and resilience. This roster will be watched closely as they bring the spirit of Indonesian football to the field, hoping to make their mark on the World Cup qualifiers and edge closer to their ultimate goal.
